few weeks back, just one week before i went to genting alone, i recieved a shocking news... My grandma had a bad cramp on the left side of her body that sunday, the following week, we brought her to the polyclinic to check up and the doc says she is showing symptoms of a serious stroke!! Although I already expect the doc to say so but i was still very shock! she was arranged to go for further check up at the Nero Science institute beside TTSH, the department specially for brain... Her appointment was scheduled that friday. Mum, ahyi and Liyng accompanied her. According to my mum, they made her do aot of test, chck her BP, CT scan, blood test and alot more... After the tests, we meet up with the doctor to find out about the test results and was SUPER SHOCK to hear that she has a bloodclot on her left side of her brain causing her to be prone to stroke... doc advise us not to leave her on her own at anytime coz scare she might go in to cramps again. and if amy cramp occur, have to send her to hospital immediately coz it might be a stroke... Than she was scheduled to a next appointment on the 15th of May. During the few weeks all of us in the family took turns to take care of her, bring her to the market walk walk in the morning, after lunch, bring her go ntuc or interchange walk walk, we let her do her usual routine but with our company coz scared she not used to stay at home all day... but we also changed our eating habits now have more vege loh and eat more healthy food.... we also thought of puting her in a day care centre where she will be well taken care off and will carry out routine excercise and make new friends but she dun quite like the idea so we dragged on the decision..
Finally on the 15th may I took leave and brought her to the appointment with mum and ahyi.. as usual she went thru all the tests and scans again than finally its time to see the doctor to announce the result.... When we went in the doctor told us that her blood clot is not there anymore but there is still a scar in her brain. Althogh is not really that serious anymore and can be controlled with medicine to prevent stroke but because she has high blood so still have to be more careful but now can let her go back to her old lifestyle... The doctor also says other than the scar in her brain and her high blood, she is considered quite healthy its ok now and nothing critical but still ahve to go back for check-up on a regular basis.... wao it was such a relief for all of us this must be th best mother-day gift ever!!!
